Ready-made bingo cards and call out cards; -3 x 3 Lotto grid; Word searches; and Cards for word snap and lotto. 100 sight words obtained from the Primary National Strategy - Letters and Sounds: Appendices - 100 high-frequency words in phases and Year 1 Common Exception Words from NC 2014 English - Appendix 1: Spelling. Use to complement reading activities, literacy and for learning words for spelling tests and assessment. The Bingo and Lotto cards are numbered. There are two versions of the letter ‘K’ in Sassoon font. Set of word cards/call out cards for word bingo which includes Year 1 common exception words - just print out as many times as you like. Set of common exception words only for the lotto cards. 40x Bingo cards (100 sight words and common exception words). 25x Lotto cards (3 x 3 grid) – Year 1 common exception words only - Spelling Appendix 1. 4x Word searches – Common exception words only. Lotto game - There are a set of 3 x 3 grid lotto cards. The children can play as individuals or in pairs or in small groups. One child picks a word from a bag or box and read it aloud. The children mark the word on their card by using dry-wipe pens or placing a counter over the word. The first one to complete a line horizontally, vertically or diagonally wins the game. 4 Word searches with solutions – to find common exception words. Use the word cards for other activities such as laying out five different word cards and ask the pupil to point to the card that says, e.g. school. Set a time limit on how many sight words the pupils can read in a minute. Multi-purpose use of the grey word cards.
